Carousels Carousels are primarily used where floor space is at a premium as they use the vertical air space. They are suited to high density storage and retrieval of small parts for inventory characterised by low pick rates. In addition, carousels provide secure storage of the inventory and can be climate controlled.

In general terms, carousel design consists of a number of trays housed within a tower. Each tray is subdivided into bins containing products. The trays are automatically presented to the operator for picking and replenishment tasks. Pickers are usually based at ground level, however, for greater pick volumes carousels can be configured to accommodate a second mezzanine picking level. Talk with
